In March 2011, Orange Equity made an investment in 33 Forest Capital, BV. 33 Forest Capital represents a collaboration between Orange Equity and 33 Asset Management, which is a Dutch boutique investment firm with its main interests in renewable energy and the carbon market. 33 Forest Capital is assisting Cikel Group, a large Brazilian concern focused on sustainable logging and forestry management, with validating and marketing its REDD credits in relation to its operations in the Amazon Rain Forest.

In May 2010, Orange Equity made an investment in ExamWorks, Inc. ExamWorks is the first national independent medical examination service for the insurance and legal industries. The company’s portfolio of services includes medical assessment programs designed to meet the specific needs of first-party insurers, attorneys, municipalities, state and federal agencies, and third-party administrators.

BOGART, LLC
In April 2009, Orange Equity acquired a significant stake in Bogart, LLC, which owns and manages the rights to the name, voice, signature, photograph, likeness and all other publicity rights of iconic actor Humphrey Bogart.
In February 2011, Orange Equity exercised its option right and enlarged its stake in Bogart, LLC. Orange Equity and the Humphrey Bogart Estate now each own approximately a one-half interest in Bogart, LLC.

FLAGSHIP GROUP, LLC
In December 2008, Orange Equity acquired a controlling stake in Flagship Group, which owns and manages a group of residential care facilities in the Southern California area. The investment combined a collateralized loan with a direct equity purchase. In July 2009, as the company continued its successful growth trajectory, we converted the loan to an additional equity stake in the company.
In January 2011, the company closed on a Series B investment with a well-respected New York-based private equity firm. The investment further strengthens the company’s balance sheet and puts it in an excellent position to continue its growth. Flagship Group, LLC now employs 50 people, manages five residential care facilities, has been awarded two additional developments, and has annual revenues in excess of $2 million.
